WWE officials are already gearing up for the 2019 Hall of Fame class.

Make no mistake about it, the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony is a night that gives fans a peek behind the curtain.

Andre The Giant was the first and only inductee into the Hall of Fame in 1993. The 1994 and 1995 ceremonies were held in conjunction with the annual King of the Ring pay-per-view events.

In 1996, the ceremony was held with the Survivor Series event, for the first time in front of a paying audience as well as the wrestlers.

Then, WWE put the Hall of Fame on hiatus until 2004. WWE relaunched the Hall of Fame to coincide with WrestleMania XX.

Beginning with the 2005 ceremony, an edited version of the Hall of Fame was broadcast on Spike TV (2005) and on the USA Network (2006–present); these were aired on tape delay.

Since 2005, the entire Hall of Fame ceremony has been packaged as part of the annual WrestleMania DVD release. When the WWE Network launched in 2014, WWE aired the ceremony live on the WWE Network.

Now for the numbers. As of this writing, there have been 164 inductees with 105 wrestlers inducted individually, 11 group inductions, nine celebrities, three Warrior Award recipients, and 16 Legacy Inductees. 36 members were inducted posthumously.

WWE will be holding WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey next year. The sports entertainment company will hold the Hall of Fame ceremony, Raw, NXT Takeover, and SmackDown Live at the Prudential Center.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is talk of Bam Bam Bigelow going into the Hall of Fame next year.

The idea is that with WrestleMania coming to New Jersey, which where Bigelow is from, it would be more fitting to do it next year than this year. When WWE made that decision, the call was made to put Mark Henry into this year’s class.

Bigelow made his name known while working for the WWE, WCW and ECW. During his time in the professional wrestling career, he held several titles including ECW World Heavyweight Championship and WCW World Tag Team Championship.

He was a top star for the WWE as he headlined the first Survivor Series in 1987, the first King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1993, and WrestleMania XI.
