This WWE Hall of Famer was surprised with the performance of WWE’s latest signing.

For years now, Steve Austin has been regarded as one of the biggest stars in the history of the sports entertainment company.

He has feuded with the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling including Vince McMahon, The Undertaker The Rock, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and the list goes on and on. He has held nearly every title that the company has to offer.

Austin held 19 championships throughout his wrestling career as he is a six-time WWE Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a four-time WWE Tag Team Champion, thus making him the fifth Triple Crown Champion in WWE history.

While also being a two-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion, a two-time WCW World Television Champion, a one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion and a one-time NWA World Tag Team Champion in WCW.

He was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2003 due to a series of knee injuries and a serious neck injury.

One of the signatures of the entrance of WWE Hall of Famer was usually him talking as he walked down the ramp

Throughout the rest of 2003 and 2004, he was featured as the Co-General Manager and Sheriff of Raw. Since 2005, he has continued to make occasional appearances, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

As seen on the Monday Night Raw 25 Anniversary show in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center on the USA Network, Austin returned to WWE TV in the opening segment with Shane, Stephanie, and Vince McMahon.

After Vince was insulted by receiving a plaque by his children, he heeled it up that set up Austin walking out and giving a few stunners.

As seen at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle defeated Triple H & Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

This marked Rousey’s in-ring debut and Angle’s first Mania since WrestleMania 22 in 2006.

Austin discussed Rousey’s WWE debut At WrestleMania 34 during a recent episode of his podcast (transcript via wrestlinginc.com). Here is what he had to say:

“This was such an entertaining match and I was really wondering how Ronda would handle the moment. Some people have questioned some of her interview skills, and she’s not used to being on an RF mic in front of 20,000 people in these arenas.

Mostly it’s trash-talk, and soundbites, and stuff like that and a shoot aspect, and not following storyline stuff, I was wondering, ‘would the moment be too great for her?’

And this match was so damn entertaining.” Austin continued, “there were so many twists and turns, and submission-type moves, and right when you thought, ‘well, here’s the finish,’ they extended it – that wasn’t the finish. And the crowd bought into this. It started off a tad slow. People were wondering, I think, just like I did, but boom! They set the hook there, mister. And, damn near from the bell, it was on. That crowd, everybody there was into that match.”

“Obviously, they put a lot of time into this, she’s obviously a very talented person, and you had three hands in there with Kurt, Steph, and Triple H being able to go out there and help along with the referee,” Austin explained.

“So all of the pieces were set in place for this thing to be, and this thing was built to make all of them shine, but specifically Ronda and help get her over. And yeah, this one, I thought they knocked a grand slam, the bases were loaded, and they knocked it out of the park. And so, we’ll see what happens in the future when she starts moving into single’s endeavors, tag team endeavors. Yeah, this was great and they pulled it off.

So she still has work to do, but as far as her performance goes, I give her an A+. And I give the match an A+ because that’s how entertained I was by it.”
