Having won the Premier League Golden Boot for the last two seasons running, it is safe to say that Harry Kane is the most prolific striker in England. The 24-year-old has plundered goals with terrifying ease during that time, making many a defender look quite silly with his almost predictably brilliant finishing. However, Kane’s monopoly on the prestigious goalscoring award has come under serious threat this year from none other than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who is enjoying the season of his life. The Egyptian maestro has torn ahead in the race for the Golden Boot and sits pretty atop the pile with 29 - a whole four goals ahead of the fledgling Kane. However, Salah is only the four goals ahead after Kane successfully appealed to the Premier League to have a goal that was initially awarded to Christian Eriksen, awarded to him instead.Kane’s appeal however, did not go down well with the footballing world. Many felt that the Englishman was grasping at straws in a race he may have already lost and was showing poor team spirit in trying to take a goal away from a colleague.Mo Salah himself was one of the first people to react to the news that Kane had been awarded the goal, and it is fair to say he did not entirely agree.

Since then, Kane has found himself as the butt of many a meme in the footballing world, with jokes about him trying to claim every goal under the sun surfacing.

There has been some fantastic stuff, as you would expect, but the official Roma Twitter feed may just have won the day with a quite brilliant Tweet mocking Kane.

Roma, who astoundingly secured their place in the Champions League semi-finals at the expense of one of the favourites Barcelona, came out in support of their former player Salah, even using his caption for their video.

Marvelous.

The video clearly shows Roma scoring a goal, but with the commentary replaced by the words “What a goal by Harry Kane”, before Kane’s face is then photoshopped onto the body of Francesco Totti performing his famous selfie celebration.

Naturally, Twitter absolutely loved the witty banter.

Never change Twitter, never change.
