People are still talking about the actions of former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

It’s well known by now that McGregor and several members of his entourage decided it was a good idea to fly from Ireland to Brooklyn, New York, which is the site of the upcoming UFC 223 pay-per-view event on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

After Media Day ended, fighters who are competing at UFC 223 got on a few buses to go travel from the Barclays Center to their hotels to start cutting weight as they were scheduled to weigh-in for their fights on Friday.

This is standard for the UFC and its fighters. Now, let’s get into the situation.

McGregor and his crew were let in by members of MacLife and they made their way down to where the buses were.

This is when everything went down as McGregor started throwing trash cans, chairs, barricades and other items at the buses. It was pure chaos, to say the least.

As a result of this incident, it led to three fights being pulled from the card as two fighters suffered injuries.

McGregor turned himself into the NYPD following his destruction late Thursday night. Authorities say he’s facing assault charges stemming the incident.

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is claiming that McGregor missed out on something much bigger as a result of his antics.

He noted on his “Believe You Me” podcast (transcript via MMA Mania) that the promotion was going to announce a big title fight involving McGregor but those plans got scrapped.

“By all accounts, Conor was going to be at the Barclays Center on Saturday night to make an announcement. It was going to be a title fight or whatever the fight was going to be, I’m sworn to secrecy so I can’t say, but he was going to be there.”

Bisping lost in the main event of the UFC 217 PPV (pay-per-view) event on November 4th in New York at Madison Square Garden to former UFC welterweight champion and current middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre by submission.

After this fight, there were many fans that believed Bisping would be announcing his retirement as an active pro-MMA fighter.

However, he is continuing with his pro-MMA career. He then lost to Kelvin Gastelum UFC Fight Night 122.

If you recall, earlier this year, Bisping went on record by stating that he would like to have his final fight in London. Ironically, the promotion is slated to return to England on March 17 for UFC Fight Night 127 at The O2 Arena.

However, when tickets went on sale for the event, Bisping noted on his official Twitter account that he would not be fighting at the event.
