Liverpool are hoping to get their transfer business done early this summer.
They agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig last summer and the Guinean midfielder will link up with his new teammates in July.
Liverpool have progressed to the Champions League semi-finals but Jurgen Klopp is expected to strengthen his squad before the transfer window shuts on August 9.
They've been reliant on Roberto Firmino up front and the supporters will be hoping to see the club go after a striker who can add more goals that Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke have managed.
Meanwhile, there has been never-ending talk of signing a new goalkeeper.
Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet finally lost his place as Liverpool's number one earlier in 2018 - and Loris Karius has impressed between the sticks.
However, according to reports in Spain, Klopp is still hoping to bring in a new goalkeeper over the summer window.
Liverpool make contact over La Liga stopper
According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have contacted Barcelona over the availability of 28-year-old Jasper Cillessen.
The Catalan newspaper claim that Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the Dutch international, as per Sport Witness.
Liverpool have reportedly proposed a "project" to the back-up goalkeeper, guaranteeing him the starting spot ahead of Mignolet and Karius.
Cillessen has produced some excellent performances in the Copa del Rey for Barcelona - but has made just one La Liga appearance since joining in 2016.
He's been firmly behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barcelona pecking order since arriving from Ajax for €13m.
Cillessen would surely be willing to leave Catalonia for Merseyside if Klopp can guarantee him first team football.
However, Karius has won over the Anfield faithful this season and has only conceded seven goals in his last 13 Liverpool outings.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper endured a difficult start to life at Liverpool but Klopp recently backed him publicly.
“Maybe it was my fault that I played him shortly after he came back from his hand injury,” said the German manager.
“But I was always convinced of his talent. If not, we wouldn’t have bought him.
“Loris is a young keeper with great potential and he does a great job.”
