WrestleMania 34 was arguably one of WWE's best ever shows.

New Orleans saw Seth Rollins crowned a grand slam champion, Ronda Rousey make her debut, Asuka's streak end and Daniel Bryan return.

On top of that we saw a monstrous main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, the return of The Undertaker and a dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Arguably then, WrestleMania had one of the most stacked cards of all time.

But for all the good, there was also some bad - that is, according to Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The penultimate match of the night saw Sheamus and Cesaro defend their RAW tag team titles against Braun Strowman and a mystery partner.

For weeks, the WWE Universe had been abuzz with excitement and rumours of exactly who "The Monster Among Men" would pick to pair off with were flowing.

In the end, it's fair to say that we were all left a little bit disappointed because Strowman literally picked a random kid from the crowd.

Nicholas, who was later revealed to be the son of a WWE official, and not so random, was the person picked to be his partner.

Unsurprisingly, Strowman and Nicholas (mostly Strowman - well, only Strowman) defeated The Bar and became the tag team champs.

Their reign lasted less than 24 hours though, with the pair vacating the titles the next night on RAW.

So, in effect, Strowman won the titles and beat The Bar by himself - proving that he really is a monster, then vacated the titles a day later. Pointless right?

Most of the WWE Universe were left questioning exactly why that happened - and Austin has been too. But he's not just confused by it, he's also disappointed too.

"Braun Strowman is over like rover, a lot of potential, a lot of momentum, a lot of great storylines for him," he said on a recent episode of the Steve Austin Show, per Wrestling Inc.

And why is he disappointed? Because a cheap stunt like that does a "disservice" to the likes of Sheamus and Cesaro.

"The fact that he goes out there in the crowd and picks some kid, it's almost like a disservice to Cesaro and Sheamus who've been working their a**es off.

"They can't monetize this person who was picked from the crowd. And, I don't know, I wasn't really down with it, and that's with respect to a damn good tag team like The Bar."

Austin continued by saying that the match "didn't do much" for him - and that's perhaps partly down to how Strowman was booked at WrestleMania.

"And then Strowman picks someone [from the crowd], I just, man you're walking a fine line with him, because you have this brute force killer who's legitimately one of the biggest, strongest men in the world. It didn't do much for me."

Stone Cold's feelings are probably mirrored by a majority of WWE fans. Yes - it was a nice moment for Nicholas, but in creating that moment WWE really devalued the tag team titles.
