With the second day of the Superstar Shakeup, SmackDown Live had a lot to live up to after Monday Night Raw raided their talent. The likes of Bobby Roode, Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin are now competing on Monday nights, so how would SmackDown re-stock?The Blue Brand also had no mid-card title after Jeff Hardy took the United States title from Jinder Mahal on Raw, so would Hardy make the move or Intercontinental champion Seth Rollins make the trade?Paige and Shane McMahon had their work cut out but by the end of the night, SmackDown had made a major statement.Let's take a look at the show and the acquisitions they made:

AJ Styles Promo

AJ Styles called out Shinsuke Nakamura and insisted he wanted to fight him like a man, but Rusev and Aiden English greeted him claiming the Artist was not present. The Phenomenal one then challenged Rusev and after the Bulgarian Brute accepted, he was put in a calf-crusher in less than a minute. English causes the DQ and the double team ensued, but Daniel Bryan would makes the save for his adversary last week. Paige made a tag team match between the four men for the main event.

Score - 7/10

Daniel Bryan got a great reaction when making the save for AJ, but Rusev continues to be booked poorly with a casket match against the Undertaker on the horizon. If it wasn't for English, he would have tapped in under a minute to Styles here; what kind of message does that send? Still, it set up the main event nicely and spelled out Styles' focus crystal clear.

Shelton Benjamin v Jeff Hardy

Shelton Benjamin hit the ring to talk about his split from Chad Gable now his former tag team partner is on Raw. Although the former Intercontinental champion paid tribute to Gable on Twitter on Monday night, he was straight back to heel mode in the ring and claimed he was hacked. He then said he wanted some 'big' competition on SmackDown and Randy Orton answered his call, but Jeff Hardy arrived on the scene to make his SD Live debut and take his spot.

Benjamin and Hardy had good chemistry during their match and Hardy did his best to show off his high-flying skills. He would beat Shelton with the Swanton Bomb to bring the United States title back to SD Live.

Score - 7.5/10

We knew one of the mid-card title holders would have to make their way to SmackDown, but Hardy seems like the right choice. The crowd was really into the debuting Hardy and he rightfully went over. One has to think Randy Orton will have the Charismatic Enigma in his sights.

The Miz cuts a promo on Daniel Bryan

The Miz didn't turn up to SD Live and, instead, cut a promo from his home with his family. He says if Daniel Bryan directly tweets him again, he'll "kick his ass", only to be cut off by Maryse who forbids him from swearing in front of his newborn daughter.

Score - 7/10

It was great in the sense that The Miz is great full stop. He cut another engaging promo, but the family man routine is kind of confusing to some viewers. We're meant to hate this guy, but it's quite hard to when he's a proud family man and doting dad.

Jey Uso Vs Luke Harper

The match here was basically nothing and it was over in a matter of minutes with a discus closeline giving Luke Harper the win. The Bludgeon Bros squashing everyone continues and the assault also continued after the match. Jimmy Uso tried to even the scores by using one of Bludgeon Brothers' mallets, but he got shut down fast. The real story came at the end of the segment when the former Wyatt Family members were going to take their mallets to a prone Jimmy Uso as he was propped against the steps. However, real-life wife Naomi came out to make the save and the Bludgeon Brothers backed off.

Score - 7/10

This was good because it was unexpected, but also not very logical. Why would the Bludgeon Brothers not want to hurt a woman? They don't care about anything else at all, but we're expected to believe their one weakness is women? I don't buy that. The Dudley Boyz would have destroyed Naomi back in 2000! Of course, these are different times and the story reflects that. It'll be interesting to see if Naomi is going to have a recurring role in this feud.

Sin Cara V Samoa Joe

Yet another squash match as Samoa Joe only needed a couple of minutes to get the Coquina Clutch sitched in and make a statement on his SmackDown Live debut. Straight after the submission win, Joe cuts a promo sending a warning to all the top guys, especially AJ Styles, on the SmackDown Live roster. It seems like he is gunning for gold and is looking to bring the Intercontinental title that he challenges for in Saudi Arabia and, perhaps the Universal title he competes for at Backlash, both to Tuesday nights.

Score - 9/10

This was everything it needed to be. Joe was dominant and immediately looked like a top player. Furthermore, his post-match promo had that palpable intensity that has made him so must-see as of late and it feels like he means every word. He'll be a world champion before the close of 2018.

Mellabration

Backstage, Big Cass interrupts a Daniel Bryan interview and SAnitY are announced to be arriving soon. In the ring, Carmella started her 'Mellabration' by cutting a great promo and brilliantly shuts down the fans who chant "you deserve it". Former champion Charlotte interrupts saying she wants her gold back, but The Iconics - who cost her the belt in the first place - come out to mock her. Charlotte can't resist getting into a scrap with the Iconics and fellow Horsewomen member Becky Lynch has to come to her aid.

Score - 8/10

Carmella is really excelling in her heel role here and she looks like she's enjoying herself. She has this grating persona and her laugh caps it off so annoyingly it's amazing. She was the star of this segment and she has the personality to carry this belt for a while.

Charlotte Vs Billie Kay

As a result of the prior skirmish, Billie Kay had her first bout on the main roster against arguably, the best women's wrestler in the world. Kay got in some decent offence on Charlotte, but this was about the Queen bouncing back from her Money in the Bank loss. She won with the Figure-Eight before Carmella and The Iconics pounced on Flair and Lynch, however, Asuka would debut to a huge ovation. The Empress of Tomorrow made the save and alongside Lynch and WrestleMania 34 foe Charlotte, stood tall to close out the segment.

Score - 8/10

Asuka's debut is the huge news here and it is a massive, massive get for the Blue Brand. One has to think the Japanese star and Charlotte will be kept apart and remain babyfaces for the foreseeable future, but with Becky Lynch, Naomi, Carmella and the strongly booked Iconics, the women's division is pretty stacked on Tuesday nights.

The Bar, Gallows & Anderson, R-Truth, Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Zelina Vega join SD Live

Whilst all of these additions were exciting in their own right, there's only so much vignettes and backstage segments can accomplish. R-Truth did a 'bit' with Tye Dillinger and the New Day while The Bar and Andrade 'Cien' Almas had pre-taped videos. Gallows and Anderson didn't even get that privilege, it was just simply announced.

Score - 4/10

In fact, R-Truth was given the most time out of everyone to announce his arrival and he's probably the least interesting and bound to be least used - what's that about?

AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan Vs Rusev and Aiden English

The babyfaces took early control of the match and there was a nice spot where both AJ and Bryan tried to lock in their submissions before a commercial break. After the ad break, naturally, the heels took over with Rusev and English working over AJ until Bryan gets the hot tag. The former four-time world champion came in like a man possessed and was firing on all cylinders. Just when Bryan hit Rusev with the running knee, Shinsuke Nakamura made his presence felt and hit AJ with yet another low blow. When Bryan turns back around, Big Cass hits Bryan with a big boot. Nakamura ends the show by saying "no speak English" again when Renee Young presses for an explanation.

Score - 8.5/10

Nakamura is truly fantastic as a heel. We're seeing much more of his personality and charisma now and his best days are certainly ahead of him. The "no speak English" gimmick is perfect and the three-way rivalry developing between Bryan, Nakamura and Styles is pure money. As for Big Cass, the WWE had reintroduced him in a big way by letting him go after Bryan and it's the perfect way for the big man to generate some legitimate heat. Whether people really want to see a match between Bryan and Cass - and if it would actually be very good - remains to be seen.
