Liverpool have launched their home kit for the 2018-19 season.Photos of the red strip leaked online at the weekend, so many Liverpool supporters will already be aware that the new shirt features a collar, but they won’t have known about the ideas behind the latest New Balance number. The Hillsborough disaster is remembered on the neck of the shirt, with the 96 emblem and eternal flames appearing just above the players’ names. The linear stripes on the front of the shirt take inspiration from “the landmark architecture of the redeveloped Main Stand.”Adults will have to pay £55 for the shirt, £30 for the shorts and £12 for the shorts, although 30 supporters who pre-order the home shirt will receive it for free. The club will also donate 125 shirts to local children from Anfield schools to mark the conclusion of their 125th anniversary year.Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were all part of the modelling shoot, posing in the new strip at Anfield.

Milner's tweet

Even Dominic Solanke and Joel Matip got asked to pose for some photos.

It’s all left James Milner feeling rather left out.

The midfielder, who has been a breath of fresh air since arriving on Twitter last month, posted a brilliant tweet after seeing Salah and co. in the new shirt.

“Handsome bunch... no shame in not making cut... I must be doing the away kit 🤔,” Milner wrote.

Who said Milner was dull?

Liverpool fans absolutely love that the 32-year-old has come out and not only shown that he certainly isn’t dull, but, unlike many professionals on social media, displays a bit of personality.

“Milner wins Twitter… again,” user @rogerhuntslfc wrote.

Liverpool also revealed the bold goalkeeper kit that Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet will wear next season.

Jordan Henderson said about the famous red jersey: “Our kit isn’t just something we wear to play, it’s part of who we are as team, we feel immensely proud when pulling on the LFC Home shirt.

"It means more to us than you could even imagine; after all, Liverpool Football Club is like no other.

"I have no doubt that our fans will love the new kit, and will wear it with pride when supporting us this coming season.”

Liverpool fans will hope that it proves to be a title-winning kit.
