Ronda Rousey made his in-ring WWE debut at WrestleMania 34 earlier this month, and most fans will agree that there is a promising future for her inside the squared circle after an impressive first outing in the ring.

Teaming up with Kurt Angle, Rousey defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in their mixed tag team match at this year's Showcase of the Immortals, and she won the match herself by forcing Stephanie to tap out to her signature armbar.

This was one of the more entertaining and enjoyable matches at WrestleMania as WWE was able to book the match in a way to take advantage of the former UFC Champion's technical ability as a fighter. She has taken her transition from MMA to wrestling with ease.

Angle had a similar path when he joined WWE back in 1998, as he was coming from an Olympic wrestling background and had never stepped foot in a squared circle before. He picked up the business very quickly, but he didn't think Rousey would be able to do the same.

This is why The Olympic Hero has said during a recent interview with USA Today's For The Win that he was surprised by how Rowdy performed at WrestleMania 34, and he believes she was able to steal the show with the standard she set. He was happy that he was proven wrong.

Angle said: "I did pick it up very quickly. As a matter of fact, I had my first match on my third day in the business. I didn’t necessarily see Ronda in that light, what I saw was Ronda getting an opportunity where we trained her, for this match, and we didn’t know how it was going to pan out.

"She knew what she had to do, she knew how the match was supposed to play out, but very seldom do you find a talent that their first match is WrestleMania.

"I wouldn’t do that to myself. When I was starting out, there’s no way in hell I’d want that opportunity – because there’s no way but down. Ronda was able to not only prove a lot of people wrong, but, I mean, she stole the show.

"It was a great structure. Triple H and myself, we structured the match, but it was her that went out there and did it. She performed beyond our expectations. We… we weren’t nervous that she was going to fail, we were just nervous that maybe the fans wouldn’t take to her the way they did.

"And they did – they took to her from the beginning, and she just got better as the match went on. Not only with her technique, but her facials, and the way she took her time. She acted like she was a seasoned veteran, and she’s not."

Rousey's performance at WrestleMania 34 was incredible, but it will be interesting to see now how she is able to perform as a singles competitor in the WWE, as well as what kind of booking direction the company has in store for her.
