The Cleveland Cavaliers managed to get themselves back on track on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers with a Game 2 victory in their first-round series, but one of their key players did pick up an injury during the matchup.

The Cavaliers ran out 100-97 winners against the Pacers last night at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, with LeBron James shining the brightest on the night with 46 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, helping to tie their series at 1-1.

Kevin Love finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, but he went to the bench with three minutes and 43 seconds left in the game, when the ball appeared to hit his thumb and bend it back when he was defending a pass while marking Pacers' Victor Oladipo. He didn't return to the game.

According to ESPN, Love has suffered a partially torn ligament in his left thumb but despite the injury, Cavaliers' head coach Tyronn Lue has said the forward will be "ready to go" for Game 3 on Friday in Indianapolis after X-rays taken after Wednesday's contest came back negative.

Love said after the game: "I saw a replay too, and it didn't look good. Hurt pretty bad. Initially, I told Ty afterward that I could have gone back in, but I think he liked the flow out there, and guys made big plays down the stretch.

"It's not going to feel great tomorrow, but throw some ice on it, tape it up and be ready to go."

As to why Love didn't come back into the game after having his hand taped up on the sidelines by the team's medical team, Lue said he thought the Cavs "had a good flow going," and sure enough, they were able to see out the result and pick up a vital win in the series.

The Cavs forward has already missed almost six weeks this season with a broken left hand, so he'll be hoping Lue is right in his prediction and he will be able to play this Friday. He finished with 15 points on 5-for-16 shooting and eight rebounds, an improvement on his nine points on 3-for-8 shooting and 17 rebounds in Game 1.

Love said: "I think in Game 1, every shot was away from the basket, and I didn't even touch the paint. So I feel like tonight I did a better job of that, had a few go in and out, but a few others go my way, and it's a whole different game for me. I expect that to be different heading forward."
