Joe Rogan has never been one to hide his personal opinions on things going on in the UFC - even if it involves the promotion's biggest star.
Conor McGregor has been in the mixed martial arts (MMA) headlines as of late, and its been for all the wrong reasons. At the UFC 223 pay-per-view (PPV) media day, McGregor and his entourage reeked havoc on two UFC fighter buses.
The Notorious One actually threw a dolly through a window of the bus and injured a few fighters, causing them to pull out of their respective fights.
Most UFC fighters would've been cut from the promotion by now, but of course, the company isn't going to let go of the most famous combat sports star in the world.
On a recent edition of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, UFC commentator Joe Rogan offered his thoughts on the matter, admitting that the Irishman is receiving special treatment from the UFC (quotes via MMA News):
“But what if it hit Rose? The f*cking world would hate him. What if Rose was blinded in one eye because of that?
"Ray Borg got cuts in his eyes, so it’s entirely possible. He got glass shards in, he’s got a scratched cornea. Chiesa filed a complaint, which will lead to a lawsuit, I would imagine.
"If I was Conor, I would settle every f*cking thing outside of a courtroom because if he loses and he gets a felony, he’s f*cked. He probably won’t even be able to come into the country.
"Switch it around; imagine if Ray Borg threw that dolly and Conor was inside. He’d be gone, his career would be over.
"That’s one of the more f*cked up things about this is that you know Conor is getting special treatment. He is, and that’s not good for anybody.”
What are your thoughts on Rogan's comments suggesting Conor McGregor is getting special treatment following his recent actions? Do you think The Notorious One is getting special treatment? And will he return to fighting inside the Octagon sometime this year? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
