The WWE effectively hit the reset button this week as the Superstar Shake-up took place over two shows, with both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE gaining some talented stars.
Now that it’s in the books, the majority of fans are in agreement that SmackDown were the victors this time around. This is because the biggest names they lost included Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode, but they gained several massive names such as The Miz, Asuka, The Bar, Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe.
Since then, everyone has rightfully started to speculated on the feuds we could see moving forward. The fact that AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan weren’t snatched from the blue brand already opens up plenty of possibilities for them while everyone is also thinking what the plan could be on RAW after losing so many big-name stars.
Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed which two stars - one from RAW and one from SmackDown - are expected to receive big pushes moving forward.
Although The Lone Wolf was originally moved to RAW to get the big push that had been revealed to be taking place, the first name is fellow new arrival, Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre arrived with an impact as he helped Dolph Ziggler take out Titus Worldwide. The source has claimed that the former NXT Champion is another superstar who ‘pushes all of Vince McMahon’s buttons’ as far as being a star goes.
Although he and Ziggler are currently a team, the likelihood is that he will eventually break off and get a big singles push in the future.
The second is another call-up from NXT, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas.
Earlier this week, the same source had suggested that Almas’ talents could see him end up in some huge feuds, such as Styles, Bryan or even Jeff Hardy. There does seem to be a push on the horizon based on the latest claim which is something fans will be glad to hear.
This is because WWE’s long-term goal has always been to make Almas a top Latino babyface in the company. To make that happen, he obviously needs to stay relevant and not get lost in the shuffle, so a push does seem likely with the hope that he can be the star that successfully replaces Rey Mysterio.
Before that, though, the company is going to give him an extended run as a top heel on the blue brand, especially with business manager Zelina Vega by his side.
Whether WWE actually goes through with their plans like they should, remains to be seen. However, these are certainly two of the biggest stars the fans would want to see in those big spots.
