Cardiff dismiss move for Foxes striker

Cardiff have rubbished speculation linking them with a move for veteran Leicester striker Steve Howard.

The Bluebirds are looking to bounce back from last season's agonising play-off final defeat to Blackpool, but Howard, 34, is not a player they will be pursuing.

Cardiff director Steve Borley, who is heading the club's transfer dealings this summer, told the South Wales Echo: "Steve Howard is not a target for us this summer. The question really is, why would we want to sign a 34-year-old striker? The answer is, we don't want one."
