Liverpool fans were all saying the same thing about Alberto Moreno v West Brom

Liverpool let a two goal lead slip as West Brom produced a spirited comeback to draw 2-2 at The Hawthorns.

Jurgen Klopp decided to rest a number of the teams' stars, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino and Andrew Robertson all being left out of the side.

That presented opportunities for a number of fringe players to make their mark, with Danny Ings, Alberto Moreno and Ragnar Klavan given a place in the starting XI.

And it was one of those that made their mark: Danny Ings.

The striker has endured an injury nightmare in recent years, with limited playing time meaning he had not scored since 2015.

But he hit the back of the net just four minutes into the game, ending a run of 930 days without a goal.

Salah would extend Liverpool's lead in the second half, but late goals from Jake Livermore and Salomon Rondon meant the two sides shared the spoils.

ALBERTO MORENO HAD LIVERPOOL FANS TALKING

Whereas Ings took his chance, it can be said that Moreno did not.

The Spaniard has found playing time limited since losing his place in the side to Andrew Robertson.

He was given a start against West Brom: the first time he had made the first eleven for Liverpool in the league since November.

Liverpool fans have criticised him for his lack of defensive awareness in the past, and that was no different against West Brom.

Moreno was all over the place; particularly in the first half.

His play did not directly lead to a goal for the home side, but that did not stop Liverpool fans taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the Spaniard.

Many noticed how much better Robertson is than Moreno, with this performance confirming that fact.

And many others want Moreno sold in the summer as a result. Brutal.

KLOPP BELIEVES TREATMENT OF MORENO IS UNFAIR

It seems the whole Liverpool fanbase wants to see Moreno out of the club, but Klopp thinks that their treatment of the Spaniard is unfair.

“The way people talk about Alberto Moreno, I hope it has settled a little bit but it was never fair, that’s just how it is,” he told Liverpool.com in January.

“If you see Alberto Moreno training, there’s nobody in the squad has a shadow of a doubt about him quality-wise.

“He’s an unbelievably strong player and he didn’t deliver all the time, that’s true, but at the beginning of the season he was so strong for us."
