Preston have confirmed that the winding-up order served on them has been dismissed, but the club are still facing further legal action from HMRC.
North End were hit with the order last month, leading to the suspension of the company's shares. And although that action has been avoided, HMRC are now looking into a failed PAYE payment from May, meaning the shares remain suspended.
New chairman Maurice Lindsay said: "It is good news that the winding-up petition has been dismissed and that season ticket sales appear to be picking up again after the announcement that the debt had been settled earlier in the week. We hope the fans of Preston North End will continue to support the club as I lead it into a new era."
