Cort pens new deal

Brentford striker Carl Cort has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The 32-year-old netted seven goals in 30 appearances last season as the Bees claimed an impressive ninth-placed finish in League One.

Manager Andy Scott told the club's official website: "Carl was a real benefit to us last year and, whilst he might not of started all games, he certainly gave me an option to change things for particular games."

He added: "If we are to continue to drive the club forwards we are going to need both his experience and ability and I am delighted he has decided to commit himself to the club for a further season."
