Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that he was offered to wrestle at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company, WrestleMania 34.
He is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
He picked up his popularity in the mainstream while working in the WWE from 1996 to 2004 and was the first third-generation wrestler in the company's history.
He returned to WWE part-time from 2011–13 and continues to make sporadic appearances for the company.
During his time with the company, he is an eight-time WWE Champion, two-time WCW/World Champion, two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and a five-time WWE Tag Team Champion. He is the sixth Triple Crown Champion in WWE and won the 2000 Royal Rumble.
The Rock beat John Cena at WrestleMania 28 in Miami, Florida then the next year at WrestleMania 29, Cena beat The Rock to win the WWE Title in New Jersey.
The Rock’s last match came back at WrestleMania 32 against Erick Rowan in a brief singles match.
The Rock was recently interviewed by KISS FM UK to promote his new movie, Rampage.
During the interview, he talked about how WWE Chairman Vince McMahon pitched an idea of him wrestling at WrestleMania 34 on April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
It was reported that WWE’s original idea was that Rock would team up with former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at the event for her WWE in-ring debut against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a mixed tag team match.

“Matter of fact, Vince McMahon and I were talking about two months ago trying to figure out what I was going to do if I went back to WrestleMania. He pitched me this really great idea that I’d get involved in a tag match with Ronda Rousey who is of course incredible and I’m very proud of her,”
“We couldn’t make it work this time because I was in Shanghai. But, Who knows down the line?”
Instead, the sports entertainment company decided to get WWE Hall of Famer and current general manager of WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle to team up with the former UFC champion at the event.
