George Groves has had some worrying times ahead of his World Boxing Super Series super-middleweight final against Callum Smith.

The pair are set to meet on July 14, a month later than originally scheduled, after Groves dislocated his shoulder in the 12th round of his semi-final unanimous decision victory over Chris Eubank Jr.

He then required surgery, and with the WBSS initially not happy about budging over their planned date, it looked as if he could miss out altogether.

Fortunately, they saw sense and have allowed the WBA champion to rightfully take his place in the final, following the talk of a replacement.

Had that been the case, it would've been twice in a row an opponent has been switched for Smith, with Jurge Brahmer pulling out of their semi-final just days before the fight with an injury, being replaced by Nieky Hozlkien.

Smith coasted home to an easy points win in the end, to set up the all-British showdown in the summer.

Given the nature of Groves' injury though, there have still been some doubts about whether he will be able to get up to full speed in time.

However, he has today posted an update on his Instagram, and has very much allayed any fears that fans may have had, and he even landed a little dig at his last opponent.

The video shows 'Saint George' clearly in very good nick throwing punches with his trainer Shane McGuigan.

As the caption reads though, he said that he isn't quite "throwing 98 punching in 11 seconds yet but...", something which Eubank Jr made waves on social media for doing in the past.

The injury has very clearly not had much of a lasting impact on him, and Groves looked very relaxed during his workout.

With the final less than three months away now, anticipation will shortly start to build for a meeting that is set to be one of the bouts of the year.

Groves will put his WBA belt on the line against the Liverpudlian, as they both compete for the Muhammad Ali trophy.

One thing's for sure, tickets won't be on sale very long for this one.
