Liverpool will have been extremely satisfied with their performance vs Roma, but they would also come away from the first leg at Anfield knowing it could have been even better.
The English side were absolutely unstoppable for the first 80 minutes of the game.
No side in world football would have been able to live with their performance - they were that good.
They romped into a five goal lead as they ran riot against their Italian opponents.
Mohamed Salah produced a wonderful display as he bagged two first half goals.
Sadio Mane then bagged the third just after the break, before Roberto Firmino got his reward for a stunning performance by netting a brace.
But Liverpool fell asleep with ten minutes to go. Edin Dzeko gave the away side hope as he netted with nine minutes of normal time remaining, before Diego Perotti converted a penalty to take the gloss off what was a terrific Liverpool performance.
Liverpool have one foot in the final after tonight's result, but they need to put in another assured performance next Wednesday in Italy if they want to make it to Kiev.
ALISSON HAD LIVERPOOL FANS TALKING
The goalkeeper position has been a major talking point this season.
Simon Mignolet started the season as the number one, but lost his starting berth to Loris Karius after a number of erratic performances.
Karius has put in a number of impressive performances for the Reds since being installed as the starter, but many fans remain unconvinced.
It has been rumoured that Jurgen Klopp will try and reinforce the position in the summer, with Alisson touted as a potential signing.
The Brazilian is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and prior to tonight's game, many Liverpool fans wanted to see him make the move to Anfield.
But that may have changed after tonight's performance.
Alisson raised some question marks for his goalkeeping for Salah's second goal. He then conceded three more in the second half as the Reds found a way past him on five occasions.
Karius, at the other end, put in a decent display.
He had Liverpool fans worried as he unconvincingly tipped a long range Aleksandar Kolarov effort on to the bar, but put in an assured display for the remainder of the 90 minutes.
So what was the verdict from Liverpool fans?
Well, the majority of fans want the club to resist splashing out on Alisson, instead thinking that Karius is good enough to remain Liverpool's number one.
Judging by the performance of both goalkeepers tonight, that could well be a wise decision.
