ALISSON HAD LIVERPOOL FANS TALKING

The goalkeeper position has been a major talking point this season.

Simon Mignolet started the season as the number one, but lost his starting berth to Loris Karius after a number of erratic performances.

Karius has put in a number of impressive performances for the Reds since being installed as the starter, but many fans remain unconvinced.

It has been rumoured that Jurgen Klopp will try and reinforce the position in the summer, with Alisson touted as a potential signing.

The Brazilian is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and prior to tonight's game, many Liverpool fans wanted to see him make the move to Anfield.

But that may have changed after tonight's performance.

Alisson raised some question marks for his goalkeeping for Salah's second goal. He then conceded three more in the second half as the Reds found a way past him on five occasions.

Karius, at the other end, put in a decent display.

He had Liverpool fans worried as he unconvincingly tipped a long range Aleksandar Kolarov effort on to the bar, but put in an assured display for the remainder of the 90 minutes.

So what was the verdict from Liverpool fans?

Well, the majority of fans want the club to resist splashing out on Alisson, instead thinking that Karius is good enough to remain Liverpool's number one.

Judging by the performance of both goalkeepers tonight, that could well be a wise decision.
