Hartlepool have appointed former Huddersfield manager Mick Wadsworth as their first-team coach.
The 59-year-old, who assisted the late Sir Bobby Robson at Newcastle, comes in after former assistant manager Colin West's shock departure earlier this month. Director of sport Chris Turner has expressed his delight at having Wadsworth on board.
"I am absolutely delighted to have Mick coming to work at Hartlepool," he said. "His experience within the game is immense and he has worked with players in the Premier League, world class players at times. His enthusiasm and passion have shone through whenever I have spoke to him about the challenges that lie ahead at the club."
He added: "He will be in charge on the training ground as he was under Sir Bobby at Newcastle and I know the players will grain a great wealth of knowledge over the coming season."
