WHAT ALLI DID INSTEAD OF WATCHING THE SEMI-FINAL

That was Tottenham’s Dele Alli.

You’d think the youngster would be wanting to watch some of the best players in world football in a Champions League semi-final.

Instead, he was streaming the video game Fortnite on Twitch - allowing viewers to watch him play.

While Fortnite is obviously a very popular game and there were thousands of gamers wanting to watch him, Alli was also getting a lot of hate from the footballing world.

Just days after embarrassing himself by doing the ‘Floss’ dance - a dance that features in Fortnite - in an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United, the midfielder was deciding to play the game instead of watching one of the biggest matches of the season.

He even went topless at one point whilst he was playing the game.

You can understand the criticism, to be fair.

Maybe there wouldn’t have been too much of a fuss if it wasn’t for Alli’s celebration on Saturday.

After scoring to put Spurs 1-0 ahead after just 11 minutes, he decided to whack out the dance move. He soon looked pretty foolish as United came from behind to win 2-1, though.

Even Frank Lampard stuck his boot in after the game.

"I think Dele Alli has learnt a big lesson there, don't celebrate too early," said Lampard on BT Sport.

"It isn't me being jealous because I can't do the 'floss', as I'm reliably informed by my daughter.

"I just think in a big game like that when you've got 80 minutes left, and also against Manchester United, I think you've got to be careful. You do with maybe your third goal in the 90th minute and I think the game changed on that.

"It's a small detail but it does matter. I think he will have learnt that lesson yesterday."
