It's fair to say Liverpool have one foot in the Champions League final. While Roma may have scored two vital away goals at Anfield, the 5-2 win for Jurgen Klopp's side should assure them of a trip to Kiev on May 26.As such, a lot of Liverpool fans will have been watching Wednesday night's semi-final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid very closely.Either one of the two European heavyweights would be a tough opponent for the Reds, despite the fact that Liverpool are now favourites with the bookies to win the competition. The game at the Allianz Arena did not disappoint, with the Spanish giants emerging 2-1 winners after going a goal down, with Marco Asensio scoring the winner. And the one thing that Liverpool fans picked up focused on Real Madrid's left-back, Marcelo, who actually scored the equaliser on the night. The enigmatic Brazilian was caught way out-of-position and then seen jogging back in the build-up to Joshua Kimmich's opening goal.He may have evened things out by scoring the equaliser, but Liverpool fans couldn't help pointing out that Marcelo would be a dream opponent for Mohamed Salah. After watching that first goal, they may be right about the Egyptian superstar....

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT

While Marcelo's exploits going forward are key to Zinedine Zidane's side, there can be no doubting that he is not good enough defensively at times.

Against Salah - with Roberto Firmino in support - the Madrid man would certainly have to try and alter his usual game.

Of course, the potential battle between Salah and Marcelo depends on the results in the second legs.

However, both Liverpool and Real Madrid are well placed to make it to Kiev in what could be one of the best finals in recent memory.
