Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid was supposed to be a clash of two European heavyweights.
However, the performances from both sides during the semi-final first-leg were pretty underwhelming.
Real may have put one foot in the final with a 2-1 away win but Munich will be kicking themselves for missing a hatful of chances.
It looked as though Bayern would pull off a shock when Joshua Kimmich caught Keylor Navas out at the near cost in the 28th-minute.
The Bavarians should and could have doubled their lead before half-time but the game changed in the 44th-minute with Marcelo’s equaliser.
The Brazilian fired the ball past Sven Ulreich to give Madrid a crucial away goal and give them the impetus to go on and win the match.
But that wasn’t the Marcelo moment that everyone was talking about at full-time.
MARCELO'S BRILLIANT TOUCH
That’s because, after the game, there was another clip going viral - and we mean that in every sense of the word.
A browse on social media at full-time and you’d have seen countless videos of Marcelo producing an absolutely filthy touch during the second-half.
Marcelo was played the ball by Raphael Varane and he trapped it expertly before producing a casual swivel.
If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out:
Marcelo’s equaliser shortly before half-time must have been a real sickener for Munich and, within 12 minutes of the second-half, Zinedine Zidane’s side were ahead.
Marco Asensio finished calmly after Lucas Vázquez’s pass and put Madrid really in the driving seat in terms of the tie.
It certainly wasn’t the most convincing performance but Zidane admitted he was delighted with the result.
"We suffered, but in the end we got an important result, we had to suffer, you can not play a Champions League game without suffering,” he said.
And captain Sergio Ramos echoed his manager’s thoughts by admitted it wasn’t easy at times at the Allianz Arena.
"Despite the fact that they could have scored more goals against us I think we we were very solid we defended very well and we knew how to hold the lines together," Ramos said.
"No-one said it would be easy.
"We'd like another 3-0 win away from home but its not that easy, we were up against a great opponent in a semi final in the Champions League. The truth is we knew what we were going to find tonight. The Champions League is like this, a great stadium to enjoy a great game."
