Dagenham have completed the signing of Damian Scannell after the winger rejected a new contract at Southend.
The 25-year-old revealed last week that he would be seeking a new challenge and will be playing in League One once again next season after agreeing a two-year deal with the Daggers.
Dagenham boss John Still told the club's official website: "I'm really looking forward to working with Damian, he is an exciting prospect and has played at this level before.
"He is powerful, quick and a strong wide player who can also play in the middle. He is desperate to do well and hopefully we can help him fulfil his potential."
Scannell, who joined Southend from Eastleigh in January 2008, suffered a broken metatarsal in March and missed the last six weeks of the season.
