Derby defender Jake Buxton is to undergo surgery to solve the groin problem which has dogged him since last season.

The centre-back, 25, saw a specialist last week to assess the injury which restricted him to 24 appearances last term.

Head physio Neil Sullivan told the club`s official website: "Jake's groin has not settled and he is having surgery (Tuesday) to hopefully solve the problem. He should be up and running in four to six weeks."
