WWE is clearly pulling out all the stops for this show.

The WWE Greatest Royal Rumble event takes place on Friday, April 27, 2018 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah International Stadium and will air on the WWE Network/

The show will feature a special start time of 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT with the event airing one hour later. Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.

Although this show is the titled the Greatest Royal Rumble event of all-time, many WWE fans believe that honor should go to the 1992 event that at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany, New York.

It had perhaps the most star-packed line-up ever, with the cream of the territorial crop converging in a single ring under the WWE banner.

This match is historic because for the first time, the last man standing would win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which had been vacated in December 1991.

It featured Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Ted Dibiase, Kerry Von Erich, Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan as well as future WWE Hall of Famers such as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

In the end, Flair, who eliminated Sid Justice with the help of Hogan from the outside, won the match.

Getting to the title changes, longtime pro wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer stated on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that there will be several titles changes at the show. Here is what he had to say (transcript via Ringsidenews):

“Well, they’re going to get several [title changes]. They’re going to get the Raw Tag Team Title change no matter what. And yeah, they’re going to get some changes for sure.”
Let’s breakdown the likely title changes. First, you have the WWE Raw Tag Team Title match between The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) and Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.

Although the titles are vacant, you would still have a title change with the expectation that since Hardy and Wyatt are on Raw, they would win the titles because Sheamus and Cesaro on SmackDown Live.

The other title changes are the Intercontinental Title and the United States Title. Jinder Mahal is expected to win back the US Title from Jeff Hardy that way Raw has a secondary title.

On the flip side, The Miz, who is a SmackDown Live star, is expected to beat Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match to bring back the Intercontinental Title to the blue brand.
