Not what you want to see at such a crucial stage of the game.

Despite the obvious errors from Mustafi and Koscielny, with Nacho Monreal also out of position, Welbeck's contribution cannot be understated.

And Arsenal fans on Twitter were certainly enraged by the Englishman.

ARSENAL FANS REACT

It just sums up the lack of composure in some Arsenal players when the team need it most.

After the game, the Englishman and Lacazette spoke about the desire still left in the camp to do the seemingly impossible and score two goals at the Wanda.

Welbeck said: "It's disappointing to concede right near the end. We've got to be positive for next week. It gives us positivity knowing we can create chances."

Lacazette then followed up by saying: "It's not enough tonight but we need a great performance next week. I'm maybe the player who wants it most in the team [with final in Lyon]."

While the Gunners most certainly have a chance, they must be more clinical and defensively sound in the Spanish capital.

The added threat of Diego Costa will do little to lift the spirits of Arsenal fans...
