Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offer Ashley Cole a way out of England as they line up a £50 million double swoop for the Chelsea left back and Steven Gerrard.
Jose Mourinho has already confirmed the signing of Argentine winger Angel di Maria and is now making the left back position a priority after director general Jorge Valdano revealed yesterday they intended to bring in two more players.
Before the World Cup it was reported Cole had a rant about England and admitted he hated the country but has admitted he has always been dedicated to his country.
“I always try my hardest for England and Chelsea but the intrusion and pressure I feel is making my life hell,” he said.
A move to Madrid would be appealing to Cole as he would be able to link up with former manager Mourinho.
Gerrard will be harder to tempt, however, as Liverpool manager-elect Roy Hodgson will make it his priority to keep the England skipper.
However, if he wants funds to spend with the Anfield club, the decision might be taken out of his hands as the club has debts of around £472.5 million.
