WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble event is scheduled to take place later today and it looks set to be an event close to the same level as WrestleMania when it comes to entertainment value, as 10 matches are set to take place on the card.

Some of the matches include Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns, AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena vs Triple H, The Undertaker vs Rusev, as well as the first-ever 50-man Royal Rumble match in WWE history.

All in all, there are plenty of opportunities for fans inside the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to see all of their favourite Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live superstars. However, one big name Raw superstar won't be there, according to reports.

According to Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net, Sami Zayn is expected to miss the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia later today, with WWE telling The Underdog from the Underground that he wouldn't be needed for the show.

Unless something unexpected changes, the reason why Zayn won't be at the show is because he’s a Syrian Muslim, with Shepard saying: "The indication backstage is that he wasn’t included because he’s a Syrian Muslim. Saudi Arabia-Syria relations have long been strained."

It will be disappointing, but understandable if The Underdog from the Underground doesn't show up at the Greatest Royal Rumble event later today. Shepard noted as well that superstars have been given a lengthy list of rules to follow while they are in Saudi Arabia, to accommodate the Saudi culture.

We'll have to wait and see until the show later to see if this is the case, but even if Zayn doesn't turn up, it shouldn't damage the progress of his current Raw storyline.

Alongside Kevin Owens once more, he has begun a very similar storyline on WWE's red brand to what he had on SmackDown, where he alongside Owens played the antagonizers to the blue brand's commissioner Shane McMahon's and former general manager Daniel Bryan's authority.

However, this time, Shane and Bryan have been replaced by Raw general manager Kurt Angle.
