Ronnie O'Sullivan is renowned for being the bad boy of snooker and he lived up to that reputation on Saturday during his World Championship match against Ali Carter.Friday evening's events at the Crucible saw the 42-year-old trail 9-7, having gone 7-3 down but won four of the last five frames. It was a pretty limp performance from five-time champion O'Sullivan and he came under scrutiny from snooker fans for playing like he didn't care. And he was punished for that approach today with Carter sealing an impressive 13-9 victory to progress into the quarter-finals and quash O'Sullivan's hopes of a sixth title.Carter played some sensational snooker and pounced on mistakes from his opponent, who he had never beaten before at the Crucible in four attempts.O'Sullivan's frustrations were clear for all to see when he appeared to shoulder barge Carter as they walked past each other next to the table. In the video below, a bewildered Carter tries to move out of the way as they cross paths but O'Sullivan collides with him anyway. It wasn't the most professional of moments.

O'SULLIVAN AND CARTER CLASH

As O'Sullivan goes to sit down, he clearly says: "Thought I'd give you one back," to which Carter replies: "Thank you." O'Sullivan then smiles, sarcastically gives a thumbs up and says: "S'Alright."

Referee Paul Collier eventually restored order, but snooker fans were left unimpressed with O'Sullivan's behaviour and slammed the Rocket for showing a lack of professionalism.

Regardless of what was said or done, you would expect him to control his emotions and behave accordingly during such an important match.

TWITTER REACTS

Carter has since reacted to the clash, saying: "Oh it was nothing really. We were both walking, he's walking to his chair, I'm walking to the table.

"I was looking at the table and we brushed shoulders (laughs). There was a lot of tension out there, it's no big deal."
