Crystal Palace's Premier League status is secured for another season. The Eagles looked doomed at the start of the season after Frank de Boer's disastrous reign in which the club failed to win or score in their first seven games.Roy Hodgson's guidance of this Palace side - with a whole host of injuries - has been nothing short of sensational and he enjoyed his finest hour in the hot seat on Saturday, as his side beat Leicester 5-0 at Selhurst Park.Wilfried Zaha was at his majestic best, scoring and assisting, but it was another name that was grabbing the headlines for all the right reasons. And that was Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who enjoyed arguably his finest ever Premier League game, scoring the third goal after a defence-splitting pass from Mamadou Sakho.On-loan from Chelsea, the midfielder is viewed as one of the brightest English prospects in the game and he got some much-needed praise on Match of the Day.Alan Shearer even stated that he believes Loftus-Cheek has to be on the plane to Russia in the summer.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain injured, there has become a vacant spot in Gareth Southgate's central midfield.

Loftus-Cheek has already played in England's senior side, turning in a wonderful display in a friendly against Germany back in November.

However, Shearer's words and the thought of the Palace man going to Russia sparked some debate on Twitter.

Some want him there, others think Newcastle's Jonjo Shelvey is more worthy of a spot in the squad. A few think just he's not worthy of a spot

Southgate has got a selection headache.

The England boss is likely to use the 3-5-2 system used in the friendlies against Italy and Holland last month.

Jordan Henderson and Jesse Lingard are likely to be two of the three in central midfield, with the likes of Eric Dier and Dele Alli available for the third.

However, Southgate could surprise us all by including one of Loftus-Cheek or Shelvey.
