The Washington Wizards' season didn't end how they would've expected and there could be sweeping changes to the team in the summer as a result.

After a surprising eighth-place finish in the Eastern Conference, they were matched up against the number one-seeded Toronto Raptors in the first round and suffered an elimination in six games.

They battled and made it a tough series for the Raptors but ultimately they couldn't match the depth of their counterparts, who proved why they had the best bench in the NBA all year.

With an All-Star backcourt duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards shouldn't have finished as low as they did in the standings as they took a huge step back this year.

Their starting lineup is still among the best in the league and can be a match for any team but beyond that, their roster looks weak.

Wall alluded to this during his exit interview and pointed to ways he feels the front office can improve the team.

"I feel like it's a lot we can use," Wall said, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "I don't really have to say (which) certain positions.

"People who have been around our team understand what we can use to help our team. And it is not throwing shade to anybody on our team because everybody that is on the roster gave everything they had to make it work and fit with the team.

"But at the same time, sometimes when it is not working, you try, you try, you try, and it keeps failing over and over, you have to make certain adjustments and changes."

The point guard also admitted that the team suffered from chemistry issues throughout the season and were not on the same page.

He believes there are a number of players who don't want to be in Washington.

"I just think you can kind of tell when guys, when things are going well, everybody is happy, everybody wants to be here," Wall said.

"But when things get rough, that is when you really figure out who is your brother, who is really in the war with you, who is really in the fight with you.

"I think anybody can see from the outside -- or the inside looking in -- who really wanted to be here when things weren't going great for us, but when it is all happy go jolly, and we are winning, it is all fun and games."

There's an important offseason ahead for the franchise and it'll be interesting to see what changes are made to turn them into championship contenders next year.
