Liverpool fans feel they have a real chance at Premier League glory next season.

You can't exactly blame them, either. Liverpool have been in imperious form in the Champions League this campaign and are now only 90 minutes in Rome away from a chance at winning the entire competition.

As a result, Kopites believe they are only a few tweaks and changes away from transplanting that form to the Premier League next year.

Overcoming Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will be no easy task but three wins from four games against the Citizens will fill them with optimism.

And one of the notable changes Liverpool are making ahead of August comes with the addition of Naby Keita as a midfield enforcer from RB Leipzig.

Liverpool chasing another midfield buy

There has been great excitement around the Guinea international and supporters can't wait to see what he delivers in the famous red jersey.

Nevertheless, there's a quiet feeling that an extra man in the midfield could be necessary.

Emre Can has been persistently linked with a move to Juventus, James Milner can't be seen as a long-term option in the position and Adam Lallana is being plagued with injuries.

Liverpool want Norwich's James Maddison

In short, Liverpool aren't exactly spoilt for regular options in attacking midfield and that hasn't gone over the head of Jurgen Klopp.

According to the Mirror, a midfielder that Liverpool hope to bring to Anfield this summer is Norwich City's James Maddison.

It's nothing to shout from the rooftops about, admittedly, but the 21-year-old midfielder has bags of potential to bring to Merseyside in the future.

They face competition from Manchester City yet their chances of securing Maddison look promising with the same report revealing that Norwich are happy to cash-in at £30 million.

Maddison is a regular for the England under-21s, was named Norwich's Player of the Year this season and has an impressive 15 goals to his name this term.

Klopp has quite the eye for up and coming talent and his coaching work with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson this season certainly bodes well.

There's every reason to suggest that Maddison could bring a lot to Liverpool if Klopp can beat Guardiola to his signature.

Couple his potential arrival to that of Keita's and the Reds would look to have the midfield reinforcements needed for greater consistency in the league.

Will it strike fear into City? Possibly not but Liverpool have the midas touch at the moment and you simply can't write them off.
