Not many superstars can say they are enjoying the spotlight quite as much as Braun Strowman right now.

The Monster Among Men has been trending upwards for the better part of a year now and it seems only a matter of time before he gets his hands on a world title.

The former Wyatt Family member won the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, outlasting 49 men to win a trophy and, for some reason, a green belt.

So now what for Strowman? With the Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar Universal Title rivalry apparently far from over following their controversial finish in Jeddah, the big man needs to be kept busy.

It was announced following Raw that at Backlash, Braun Strowman and the recently returned Bobby Lashley will team up to face off against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a tag match.

Some might think that is a tad underwhelming considering how popular Strowman has become, but there could be a deeper story being told here.

While GiveMeSport was in New Orleans, sources suggested that Lashley was indeed set to be Strowman's partner at WrestleMania 34. Of course, 10-year-old Nicholas would end up partnering Strowman in a move that surprised quite literally everyone, but it seems the WWE are now re-visiting those plans.

The original idea was to have Lashley and Strowman win the Tag Team Championships from The Bar and eventually, dissension creep into the duo, costing them the titles down the line.

From there they would split and go into a feud with each other, with Lashley likely turning heel given Strowman's immense popularity.

With the announcement of the match for Backlash, it seems as if the WWE are going ahead with that storyline, minus the tag team titles.

While no official word has reached us on why Nicholas was the late addition to the tag team match, Vince McMahon does enjoy doing 'first-evers' in the WWE and creating 'WrestleMania moments'.
