It's going to be a busy transfer window at Manchester United.
The Red Devils spent close to £150m last summer - but currently lie 16 points behind runaway league leaders Manchester City.
Former Man United defender Gary Neville believes Jose Mourinho will splash out "huge" money to improve his squad.
“I think it will be huge in numbers, I don’t think it will be huge in terms of quantity of players,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
“I think it will be three of four players leaving and three or four players coming in, which is relatively normal.
“But I think they will be big players, I think the defence needs reshaping, I think the midfield needs looking at.
“He’s got to make that gap up and that’s a big gap.”
Two players to leave
The summer transfer window shuts on the earlier date of August 9 and Man United have begun organising their first team squad for next season.
According to The Times, Manchester United have informed two defenders that they are surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian have been told they are free to leave, after racking up a combined total of six Premier League starts this season.
The latter is wanted by Serie A giants Juventus, who have already begun negotiations with Man United for his signature.
Blind, 28, and Darmian, 28, are both full-backs and their departure would hint that a replacement is incoming.
Both players have one year remaining on their current deals at Old Trafford.
Ashley Young has enjoyed an excellent season at left-back but Man United have been linked with moves for Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon, Tottenham's Danny Rose and Celtic's Kieran Tierney.
The Times understands that neither Blind nor Darmian was involved in a recent promotional photoshoot for next season’s kit, which further indicates that they aren't part of Mourinho's plans.
Darmian, who signed from Torino in 2015, recently admitted that he misses Italy - and refused to rule out a move to the Old Lady.
"I'm living a great experience here in England. I'd say yes to United again," the defender said in an interview with Sky Italia.
"It's one of the best clubs in the world. I won several trophies here but I miss Italy. Let's see what happens at the end of the season. Now the priority is to end the season in the best way possible.
"I have not decided yet [about a potential switch to Juventus]," added Darmian.
"I am happy Juventus are interested in me. Juve are a great club and I am happy for that. I will think about a possible move when it will be the right time."
