David Haye and Tony Bellew will meet in the ring for the second time on Saturday, over a year after their first bout.

It was the latter who came out on top that day, claiming a sixth-round victory and the pair will meet in the same venue that hosted their previous encounter, the O2 Arena.

Arguably, all eyes will be on Haye as he aims to inflict revenge over his opponent but after picking up what could have easily been a career-ending injury in their last meeting, concerns have mounted over his physical state.

However, his strength and conditioning coach, Ruben Tabares, has offered some positive updates on the progression of Haye’s recovery.

The former world champion’s coach insisted that people should expect to see a different boxer enter the ring on Saturday.

"I think on May 5, well I know on May 5, people are going to see a very, very different David Haye," Tabares told Sky Sports News.

Tabares even compared Haye to Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt, implying that if he could improve, so can the boxing star:

"I think it was brought up in the press conference yesterday.

“I think Tony was saying how can you be better than you were last time and my answer to that would be - when Usain Bolt for example broke the [100m] world record and ran 9.72 - that was the best he could possibly be.

"The following year he ran 9.58 or something like that. That was a better version of himself, because he ran faster.

“You can always better yourself. You can always do more to improve."

He continued: "I know David's body inside out. I've always been able to get him to fights, 100 per cent healthy.

"When he asked me to come back, something like 12 weeks ago, he said 'listen, I need you to come back. I need you to help me get into the ring in the best possible shape.'

"I promised him. That was an actual promise from myself, I said 'I will promise I will get you into the ring 100 per cent healthy.'"

So it seems Bellew will be up against a very different Haye this weekend but can the latter put his recovery to the test and claim victory at the second time of asking or will it be the Liverpudlian who will come out on top once more? Let us know in the comments below!
