Real Madrid reached their third Champions League final in as many seasons courtesy of their 4-3 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich.

Zinedine Zidane’s side weren’t at their best at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night but ultimately did enough to book their place in this month’s final.

The game finished 2-2 - Karim Benzema scoring twice for the home team, with Joshua Kimmich and James Rodriguez netting for the visitors - although Bayern will view this as a wasted opportunity.

Juup Heynckes’ team dominated possession, had more shots at goal than their opponents and missed several gilt-edged chances over the course of the 90 minutes.

This was a huge let-off for Zidane’s men, who face either Liverpool or AS Roma at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev on May 26.

Needless to say, those associated with Los Blancos didn’t care when Cuneyt Cakir blew the full-time whistle.

Reaching a third successive Champions League final is a remarkable achievement, regardless of how ‘lucky’ some people think they are.

Casilla criticised for what he did after the match

Madrid’s players celebrated jubilantly after the match in front of their euphoric supporters.

However, Madrid’s back-up goalkeeper Kiko Casilla landed himself in hot water with Catalan newspaper Sport - as well as some Barcelona supporters, you’d imagine - for what he did in the aftermath of the match.

The 31-year-old, who is currently in his second spell at the Bernabeu after rejoining the club from Barça’s neighbours Espanyol in 2015, was filmed mockingly singing part of Barcelona’s famous hymn.

This has been described by Sport - a pro-Barcelona newspaper, it’s important to note - as an “ugly gesture. Watch the footage here...

Barcelona fans won't forget this dig

The footage also shows a smiling Marco Asensio telling his teammate “you can’t sing that” as he started to sing “Tot el camp…” - a line from the aforementioned hymn.

One thing’s for sure: Barcelona supporters will be mocking Casilla more than any other Madrid player if Los Blancos fail to win the Champions League later this month.

They won’t forget this little dig.

Casilla has made nine La Liga appearances this term and 16 in all competitions.

Although a Catalan himself, it’s clear that his loyalties lie with Espanyol rather than their more famous local rivals.
