After an impressive display off the bench for the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 against the New Orleans Pelicans, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr must decide if Steph Curry will start Game 3 of the second-round series later this week.

The Warriors won Game 2 on Tuesday night 121-116 against the Pelicans at the Oracle Arena in Oakland with Curry providing a great performance off the bench in his first playoff game since his injury, finishing with 28 points, seven rebounds, and two assists, while also shooting 8-of-15 from the field.

The point guard had previously been out of action since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain on March 23. The man himself said after the game it felt great to be back on the court for Golden State. Many now expect him to get a start in Game 3 on Friday night at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Speaking on Wednesday on 95.7 The Game, via ESPN, Kerr revealed that Curry will be starting Game 3 against the Pelicans because his performance in Game 2 was too good to keep him on the bench for long.

He said: "Oh yeah, yeah, he'll start Game 3. You don't keep a guy like that on the bench for long. ... He'll be in the starting lineup."

Kerr elaborated more on Curry's Game 2 performance after the game, stating that things played out as they expected for his return to the court following a 15 game absence which saw him miss the entire first-round series win against the San Antonio Spurs.

He said: "I would say it played out as I expected. I knew I would play him more than what we planned. I think we planned on 24 [minutes] and he got to 27, but he was Steph. He didn't take long to warm up, that's for sure."

As previously mentioned, Curry was pleased with his performance off the bench in Game 2, as he said after the game: "It felt great. Real eager as of late trying to get back out there and be with my teammates, and, you know, do what I love to do.

"To get back out there on the floor, play some playoff basketball and get a big win tonight, it was huge. It was a good feeling. The crowd was crazy and obviously we did what we needed to do in these first two games."

Game 3 between the Warriors and the Pelicans will take place on Friday night at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
