It's official: Liverpool have reached the Champions League final. While there has been due excitement around the Reds this season, even the most optimistic of Kopites wouldn't have foreseen their rampant European run. And what a journey it's been for Jurgen Klopp's men.In fact, you'd struggle to point at a single Liverpool player who hasn't put in an incredible shift across the knockout rounds. And that includes Liverpool's youthful full-backs and a man - Andrew Robertson - who was written off by many when he first moved to Anfield.Criticised by Gary Neville and benched amidst the resurgent form of Alberto Moreno, it looked to many that Robertson had made a mistake in leaving Hull City.

Robertson's rise to the top

Now, Robertson has made his way into Neville's Team of the Season and, with 27 appearances under his belt, has become a regular in Liverpool's starting XI.

His performance against Roma on Wednesday night was another indicator of his form and his remarkable rise through British football. As recently as five years ago, Robertson found himself in the third division of Scottish football with Queen's Park.

Consequently, the 24-year-old reaching a Champions League final prompted Liverpool fans to unearth a very interesting tweet of his from 2012.

Mignolet sends him a beautiful tweet

On August 18 of that year, the Scotsman tweeted: "life at this age is rubbish with no money #needajob"

From unemployment to the pinnacle of European football in six years, dreams really do come true.

And amidst the deluge of retweets and 'likes' upon the post, Simon Mignolet couldn't help wading in and posted a tweet of pure class. Check out his post below:

Spot on, Simon.

Robertson's journey is a fine example of how hard work and dedication can lead to the realisation of your dreams and goals. To say his determination has paid off, would be putting mildly.

Mignolet's acknowledgement of this has gone down brilliantly with Liverpool fans, too. Take a look at the reaction here:

It's also another insight into the remarkable squad cohesion of this current Liverpool team.

You get the impression that under Klopp, the Reds have forged an unrivalled team spirit that has gone a long way in galvanising their success this season.

Robertson and Liverpool have already achieved incredible things across the 2017-18 campaign but they now have their chance to go one further against Real Madrid on May 26.

Nothing would stand as a greater example to young footballers and a finer vindication of success than Robertson lifting the Champions League trophy.
