When most professional wrestling fans hear Chris Jericho's name, he's almost synonymous with the WWE.

In the past few months, however, Jericho has been taking his talents across the globe in Japan - and its been a massive success.

After wrapping up his feud with Kevin Owens post-WrestleMania 33, Jericho began a massive feud over in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).

Jericho was paired up with the man who is arguably professional wrestling's hottest star at the moment - Kenny Omega.

The pair started their feud back in November after having what looked like a legitimate back-and-forth exchange on Twitter.

Fans ate the social media feud up and took it to be legitimate, however, when Jericho debuted at a NJPW show to challenge Omega to a match, they knew they'd been worked.

Y2J challenged The Cleaner to a bout at Wrestle Kingdom 12, NJPW's equivalent of WrestleMania.

This past January Jericho and Omega tore the house down with an epic No Disqualification match from the Tokyo Dome, which subsequently received a five star rating from Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer.

Jericho wound up doing the job for Omega, before shifting his focus to another NJPW star. The day after losing to Omega at Wrestle Kingdom, Jericho attacked top Japanese star Tetsuya Naito at the New Year Dash!! 2018 event.

It seemed that Jericho would be working a program with Naito next, however, back in March Jericho revealed that his time with NJPW was now done.

He recently returned to WWE action at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on Saudi Arabia last week.

While some believed that when Jericho decided to return for one more run inside the ring he'd do it with WWE, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports something completely different.

It seems that the former WWE Champion will be returning to NJPW for their Wrestling Dontaku event over the next few days.

Despite Jericho's previous claims that he is now done with the company, we can expect Y2J to make his return very shortly.

Johnson says Jericho will shoot an angle to hype his return to the ring next month at NJPW’s Dominion event.

Due to his unfinished business with Tetsuya Naito, that's likely who Jericho will be sharing the ring with for his upcoming match.

What are your thoughts on Jericho's in-ring return being for NJPW? Are you excited to see him back inside the ring? And how do you feel about Naito possibly being his opponent? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
