So that's it, Arsene Wenger is officially out.Well, he still has three more Premier League games, but given their sixth-place position and no mathematical chance of making the Champions League, they are effectively meaningless.Arsenal's 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano brought a halt to their Europa League run at the semi-final stage.Antoine Griezmann's goal at the Emirates proved to be the decisive factor, with Diego Costa scoring at the Wanda to put the tie way beyond Arsenal. In truth, the Gunners never really looked like scoring, with Diego Godin putting in a colossal display at the back. The likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey could do little against Atleti's rearguard, with Ozil in particular having a very off evening. The German playmaker has a tendency to go missing in big games and Martin Keown made his feelings known about him in the BT studio. He's never really been his biggest fan, but these have to be his strongest words yet.

“It's almost like his hands are in the air [saying] 'Look this group aren't as good as me'," he says.

"Someone needed to grab him a long time ago, to give him a shack and say we're trying to get the ball to you. We are working for you but you're not working for us.

“I bet he doesn't play again this season. He'll have some emotional breakdown and won't play this weekend.

“I don't know how many illnesses he has had this... That is not a proper performance. He's not giving everything and there's much more under the bonnet.

“He wasn't fit to wear the shirt tonight. I've seen this a lot this season. It needs to be said. He needs to be dug out. We expect better from him.

“These are crocodile tears I'm seeing from the player. He's not conning me."

Ouch, criticism doesn't come much worse than that.

Keown's outburst was, of course, one of the big talking points on Twitter in the aftermath of the game, with a huge number of Arsenal fans responding.

And one of them was Piers Morgan, but the often-controversial Gunners fan placed the blame at someone else's door; Arsene Wenger.

MORGAN'S TWEET

He might have a point, and a lot of Arsenal fans were torn over whether the comments about Ozil were necessary. Some were praising Keown, others thought he went way over the top

This wasn't how it was supposed to end for Wenger's Arsenal side...
