Lazio president Claudio Lotito has slapped a 22.5million euro (£18.7m) price tag on reported Manchester City and Real Madrid target Aleksandar Kolarov.
The Serbia international is under contract at the Rome outfit until June 2011 but has attracted interest from Europe's biggest clubs after turning in strong displays since joining from OFK Beograd in 2007. Italian media recently reported that Lazio had turned down a £12million bid from Madrid for the 24-year-old left-back, and Lotito claimed earlier this week that the player could leave at the right price.
"In my opinion, he is worth as much as [Lazio striker Mauro] Zarate, who we paid 22.5million euros for," said Lotito, who added that the player was not actively seeking a move away from the Serie A club.
"Kolarov has not asked to be transferred," Lotito continued. "He has only expressed an ambition to continue his career at a superior club.
"From our part, we have never put the player on the transfer market."
