Arsenal have secured the signing of teenage defender Sead Hajrovic.
The 17-year-old centre back joined on a scholarship last summer from Grasshoppers Zurich, and signed professional forms for Arsene Wenger's Arsenal yesterday.
The club's official site confirmed the news, with the highly-rated Swiss youth international impressing for the Academy side in his first year at the club.
Hajrovic was a surprise signing last summer, with the Gunners thought to have paid around £200,000 for the youngster.
A versatile player who can play in any position across the back four, the Bosnian born defender is expected to step up to the reserve side in north London.
Wenger has continued his policy of bringing high quality youth players to the Emirates this summer, with Samuel Galindo, Wellington Silva, Kyle Ebecilio and Emilio Damián Martínez all involved in work permit applications, offers or signings.
Manchester United and Everton were both thought to be interested in the player last summer, but the professional contract signing means the Gunners have secured the youngster for the forseeable future.
