Daron Cruickshank used his trusty kicks yet again to secure a devastating highlight reel knockout when he destroyed Koshi Matsumoto with a perfect strike at the Rizin FF 10 event.

The Detroit Superstar looked to be in a savage mode from his entrance right through to the conclusion of the fight after knocking out his opponent. The former UFC star, who has faced - and lost - against the likes of Paul Felder, James Krause and Jorge Masvidal scorched Matsumoto with a walk-off head kick in Fukuoka, Japan.

RIZIN 10

Cruickshank was heading into the fight after suffering two consecutive stoppage losses. However, this is exactly the sort of response he would have wanted by putting his opponent to sleep in destructive fashion which has the world of MMA talking about their lightweight contest that ended in the first round.

Cruickshank channelled his inner Hulk Hogan by using his legendary ‘Real American’ theme song to make his way to the ring, but it’s the finish and what he did after the win that has everybody talking.

The finish came in the first round after both men were separated from a clinch.

After a number of kick attempts over the first few minutes of the first round, Cruickshank once again went for a head kick and this time, he managed to connect with a brutal, lightning-fast left kick perfectly on Matsumoto’s neck and chin to knock him out cold well before he even hit the canvas as he lay there with the American standing tall.

FLIPPED OFF

That wasn’t the end either.

When Cruickshank saw that Matsumoto was unconscious, he decided to rub a little extra salt into the wounds by flipping him a middle finger to further assert his dominance to end Matsumoto’s three-fight winning streak coming into this contest; something which many fans will call classless, especially after knocking out his opponent.

The 32-year-old Cruickshank, who has been with Rizin since its inaugural show in 2016, has now won two fights in a row while extending his records to 20 wins and 10 losses.

While Cruickshank flipping off his opponent might not go down too well, a lot of viewers - certainly the American audience - seemed to love his extremely patriotic entrance as he walked down into the ring with arguably one of the most recognisable theme songs in wrestling history.
