He once had dreams of fighting Anthony Joshua but now, the future appears bleak.Haye has left the door open to fight again but really, where does he go next?

Eubank Sr.'s tweet

Boxing fans weren’t treated to the 11-round slugfest that Haye and Bellew delivered last year, with the Londoner really struggling with the right leg that he injured in the first meeting.

The manner in which Bellew floored Haye with 20 seconds remaining in the third round was impressive but it was a rather anti-climactic bout.

Don’t tell Chris Eubank Jr. that, though.

The super-middleweight described the contest as a “hell of a fight” and described Haye as a “warrior till the end” in a tweet that many boxing fans disagreed with.

Check out the reaction below.

Haye appeared to aggravate his injury during the fight and many viewers believe he wasn’t fully healed.

Was he aware that his body wouldn’t hold up for 12 rounds? It would explain why he made a fast start in an attempt to end the fight quickly.

There are now calls for Haye to hang up his gloves, with Carl Froch leading the calls for the former champion to retire.

“There is only one answer about his future: David Haye should retire. 100 per cent,” Froch told Sky Sports.

“I don't like saying it but this has to be the end for him now. We have been friends for a long time and we have all been thrilled and entertained by his achievements, but I don't want to see this happen again.

“People shouldn't forget that as a boxer he has given us more than we ever expected. David did things beyond the call of duty.”
