Football fans who feared Sunday’s Clasico would be something of a damp squib needn’t have worried.Barcelona v Real Madrid is a fixture that always produces the goods and the latest clash between Spain’s fiercest rivals was no exception.Barça were looking to maintain their unbeaten record and get one over Zinedine Zidane’s side, who reached their third successive Champions League final last week.Madrid, meanwhile, were desperate to end their rivals’ unbeaten run and close the gap on second-placed Atletico Madrid in the process.Luis Suarez put Barcelona 1-0 up at the Camp Nou with an excellent volley, but Cristiano Ronaldo - who else? - levelled the scores four minutes later.The match then descended into chaos before the full-time whistle, with referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez handing out three yellow cards and a straight red during the final minutes of the first half.The red card was shown to Sergi Roberto, who was caught lashing out at Marcelo. The yellow cards, meanwhile, went to Sergio Ramos, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

That the foul was made on Ramos made it all the sweeter for Culés on social media.

Despite the man disadvantage, Barcelona took a 2-1 lead thanks to Messi’s brilliant second-half strike.
