The Golden State Warriors are on the brink of making a fourth consecutive Western Conference Finals appearance after taking a commanding 3-1 lead over the New Orleans Pelicans in their semi-final series. The Dubs bounced back from a 19-point game three loss to secure a huge 118-92 victory in game four. Kevin Durant was their inspiration for the big win as he put on a show at the Smoothie King Center. The reigning Finals MVP poured in 38 points and was a menace for the Pelicans on the offensive end all night. It was arguably his best performance in the playoffs this year and his teammate Draymond Green believes he may have been the reason for it.

Green revealed after the game that he sent KD a text message at 4 am challenging him to produce a display of that kind.

After their surprisingly massive defeat in game three, the power forward told ESPN that he stayed up all night watching film.

"I can't sleep when we lose like that," Green said.

He was so frustrated by his team's performance that he sent Durant a long text. Although he didn't fully reveal the details of the message, he explained how he challenged him to play better.

"I just challenged him to be who he is. I had to tell him," Green told ESPN. "I didn't see him attacking or being aggressive enough on both ends of the floor like we need him to be.

"You know, I don't hold back. When I see something's wrong, I have to voice my opinion. There were no hard feelings. We're just trying to win a ballgame."

When he woke up to read the message from Draymond, Durant simply replied: "I got you."

The former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar didn't disappoint as he put the team on his back with a dominant showing.

By the 29-year-old's incredibly high standards, scoring 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting in their game three loss wasn't deemed good enough for a player like him.

"In short, [Draymond] said don't worry about s--- else but playing with force and being aggressive," Durant told ESPN. "And I tried to do that as much as possible today.

"I wasn't aggressive in game three, and I knew that. It's good to know that teammates got your back. It was good to hear that from him."

He shot a much better 15-of-27 in Sunday's lopsided win and Green said that's the player they want to see every night.

"What we saw from him today, that's what we need," Green said. "He was engaged and scoring all over the place. He was changing the game. That's the impact he has when he's playing aggressive out there for us. That's what I love seeing."

A win back at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night will seal another conference finals berth for the Warriors where a mouthwatering showdown with the Houston Rockets is now firmly on the cards.
