Despite still holding the Universal Championship, it does seem like Brock Lesnar’s time in WWE is coming to an end if speculation is anything to go by.

The WWE did a good job of playing up his desire to return to the UFC and compete inside of the Octagon. So, it comes as no surprise that a lot of fans assumed that at WrestleMania 34, Roman Reigns would slay The Beast to leave New Orleans, Louisiana with the Universal Championship.

UNIVERSAL CHAMPION

When that didn’t happen, it was thought the Greatest Royal Rumble would be the event where Lesnar finally drops the gold. Again, Lesnar retained and now fans are wondering if and when the eventual title change might actually take place.

Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided several big updates on Lesnar’s situation both in the WWE and potentially the UFC.

According to Rajah, Lesnar’s next pay-per-view appearance is still unclear, however, there have been rumours that the WWE is booking him for the Money in the Bank event in Chicago, Illinois on June 17 where he will have already eclipsed CM Punk’s 434-day record as world champion in the modern era.

At the moment, Lesnar isn’t under contract for SummerSlam, which links in with the speculation that either The Beast has signed a short-term deal, or that WWE is paying him per appearance.

Obviously, this could change as the source has added that WWE could have Lesnar sign a new deal or sign an extension so he can be part of the biggest party of the summer.

SUMMERSLAM

Along with this, if Lesnar doesn’t enter the USADA testing pool by June, if he is serious about returning to the UFC, then it’s claimed that the entire move could be a bluff as leverage for Lesnar to get a better contract from WWE, which he did end up getting.

If he does make the right moves to head back to the UFC, the belief is that WWE will have Lesnar appear at SummerSlam which is the event where he could drop the Universal Championship. As revealed some weeks ago, WWE wants Lesnar to lose to both Reigns and Braun Strowman before he leaves.

So, the month of June could prove to be the most pivotal.

If he doesn’t enter the USADA pool, then the likelihood is that he won’t be competing in the UFC in 2018 and might even hold the Universal Championship for much longer than anticipated.

If he does enter the drug testing pool, then SummerSlam could be the event where he drops the gold with it being expected that the WWE will be able to secure another date for using Lesnar.
