Williams have recently requested that several of the decisions made by stewards at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku be reviewed, such as Sergrey Sirotkin's grid penalty.

They have also questioned Fernando Alonso's return to the pit with his damaged McLaren.

Last month's Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku had plenty of drama and controversy, with Williams' Sirotkin receiving a three-place grid penalty for colliding with Force India driver Sergio Perez in the first lap, which he will serve at the Spanish Grand Prix at the weekend.

Another noteworthy issue was how McLaren's Fernando Alonso returned his damaged car to the pits following a collision with Sirotkin and Nico Hulkenberg.

In response to Williams' official request, the FIA have responded by releasing a statement.

"The team has also requested the Stewards review an incident involving cars 17, 27, and 35 in Turn 2 of Lap 1 of the race and the actions of the driver of car 14 in returning to the pits. (The Stewards note that the reference to car 17 above is most likely incorrect and it should be car 14, namely Fernando Alonso)."

Alonso's car suffered punctures and damage to the floor, but he managed to limp the car back to the pits, narrowly missing the wall, and eventually finished seventh, despite it looking like a definite DNF for the Spanish driver.

Alonso has also admitted he felt it was one of his best races, due to the difficulties he faced.

"P7 is an unbelievable result, probably one of the best races I have ever done," Alonso said.

He has also called for fellow drivers to be more careful in the middle of the pack in the corners.

"There were three cars closing and no one lifted off. I was on the inside and I took two flat tyres," he added.

Baku was the 36-year old's third consecutive seventh place finish in Grands Prix, and combined with fellow McLaren driver Stoffel Van Doorne's ninth place finish, ensured McLaren retained fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.
