Formula One owners Liberty Media are exploring the possibilities of hosting races in New York and Las Vegas in the near future.

Miami has already been linked to a street race, with the 2019 target all-but given the green-light to go ahead, but they don't want to start their in the States.

Currently, the United States hosts one event in Austin, Texas, with American owners Liberty keen to develop the franchise across the Atlantic.

The concept of events in either Miami, New York, or Las Vegas may concern European fans of Formula One.

However, Liberty chiefs are keen to express that more American events would not see the European races restricted.

Current Drivers' Champion Lewis Hamilton is not impressed with Miami possibly holding such a street race event in the future, joking that he could design a better track that has been previously proposed.

"It's not the one. Let me design it," he wrote on social media.

However, if Liberty have their way, two iconic cities could host Formula One races.

Liberty have implemented changes to Formula One since taking ownership from Bernie Ecclestone, as they look to take the franchise to a new level and bring it into the modern era.

Changes such as the Halo safety device on the cockpit of drivers' cars have been overseen by Liberty.

Chase Carey told RTL: "We've made it clear from day one that our goal is to continue to develop the sport in the US.

"We have talked about 'destination cities' like Miami, New York, and Las Vegas.

"I want to make it very clear that this is not at the expense of formula one in Europe.

"Europe is the foundation of this sport, its homeland, and as far as I'm concerned that will always be the case."
